Abstract
Most surgical specialities have attempted to address concerns about unfair comparison of outcomes by 'risk-adjusting' data when reporting speciality-specific outcomes that are indicative of quality of care. We explore predicting positive margin status, following excision of facial non-melanoma skin cancer, so that outcome audit that will account for complexity of case-mix, is possible.
