Abstract

AbstractA novel priming discharge technique in which the ramp shaped priming pulse is applied to the entire panel simultaneously overlapping with the sustain period is developed for the dual scanning FHD plasma display panel of 120Hz. From the experiments, the priming period inserted in the sustain period did not influence sustain and address discharges and high‐speed addressing with scan pulse width of 0.7 μs was achieved with address voltage margin of 40 V.
