Abstract

This paper presents enhancement of the performance of dynamic control by a minimum configuration control module applying Minimal Control Synthesis (MCS) for shaking tables. When a shaking table is driven for the seismic experiment of a specimen, its motion is affected by a reaction force caused by the specimen on the table. MCS is effective for this problem and doesn't require identification of plant parameters. Furthermore we set fewer parameters than in general adaptive control. Therefore we developed the control module applying MCS for additional compensator with existing control systems. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified by experiments.
