Abstract
In case of the five-axis controlled machining, the machine structure, such as table, spindle, and column, can take various positions and postures. So, the interference among machine structures may occur. However, in the commercial CAM software cooping with five-axis controlled machining, the structure interference is not considered. Therefore, the output cutter location (CL) data might cause the structure interference. In this report, the positions and postures of the machine structure where the structure interference may occur are calculated, and the tool path generation method considering the above-mentioned problem was developed. As the result of the machining simulation, the effectiveness of the devised technique was actually confirmed.
