Abstract

Introduction and Aims: Migration due to environmental factors is an international crisis affecting all nations. Pregnancy in the context of environmental migration carries significant increased risks of both maternal and fetal morbidity. This presentation reviews the effects of environmental migration on pregnancy, and informs the obstetrician, midwife or maternity healthcare provider of the specific clinical issues for optimal management of these at risk pregnancies. Given a lack of data on migration due to slow-onset climate processes, this presentation focuses on migration in the context of environmental disasters.
