Abstract

Dermatology-related content is quickly growing on social media through both skincare influencers and board-certified dermatologists on platforms such as TikTok, a video sharing application that has expanded exponentially since its launch in 2018 with over 50 million daily US users. Skincare influencers make up most users under dermatologic sub categorical hashtags while few board-certified dermatologists, physicians, and dermatology residents use their reach to dispel skincare myths and debunk popular trends.
