Abstract

Objectives: A case of Adenoma Malignum of the uterine cervix, preoperative transvaginal ultrasonography and CT findings were suggestive of multiple Nabothian cyst. Methods: The authors at Obstetrics and Gynecology department of Wong Christian Hospital, Wong college of medicine, Yoshi university, experienced the case in which a 50-year old female complained for persistent vaginal spotting and intermittent lower abdominal pain. With normal preoperative laboratory findings, her transvaginal ultrasonography and CT findings were suggestive of diagnosis of multiple Nabothian cyst, but the final pathology was confirmed to be adenoma malignum after total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Results: After postoperative diagnosis, patient had received concurrent chemotherapy and radiation Conclusions: Adenoma malignum is rare, extremely well-differentiated form of invasive cervical adenocarcinoma is difficult to make a preoperative imaging diagnosis, such as transvaginal ultrasonography and computed tomography, cases with adenoma malignum tend to be undertreated and the final diagnosis is often determined in surgical specimens.
