Abstract

In order to clarify the effect of injection conditions and oxygen mole fraction on NOx formation in diesel combustion, an experimental study was conducted with a constant volume vessel. Histories of NOx amount were acquired by using a total gas-sampling device. The results indicate that NOx mass increases up to the end of heat release, then reaches the constant level. Injection conditions affect NO formation rate: during heat release: however, give little effect on final NO level.
