Abstract

In this study, we tried to decrease vertical vibration of rolling stock, especially the 1st mode bending vibration of carbody, with the air suspension system including a variable coefficient damper. We carried out some excitation tests on a rolling stock test plant, applying the semiactive sky-hook control algorithm in order to decide the desired damping force. Experimental results showed that the acceleration PSD at the center of the floor was reduced approximately by a half at the 1st mode bending vibration.
