Abstract

320-slice CT Aortic wall tissue invasion Left-main coronary artery Coronary risk factors Coronary arteriosclerosis Aortic wall tissue invasion into the ostium of the left main coronary artery (LMA) is frequently observed on computed tomography scan (CT) (Fig. 1) which sometimes might be diagnosed as a non-calcified plaque of the LMA and is ignored as its significance is unclear. To evaluate the significance of aortic wall tissue invasion into the ostium of LMA observed on CT, we examined the relationship between the presence of aortic wall tissue invasion on CT and coronary artery risk factors, coronary arteriosclerosis and stenosis confirmed on CT and invasive coronary angiogram (ICA) findings.
