Abstract
The participants will engage in group discussion on how negative childhood experiences, including hypersexualization, affect the risk of experiencing violence and suicidality among Black youth. The participants will use the presented literature, video clips, and community stories to examine the issue of Black youth suicide from a trauma perspective. The participants will learn trauma-informed resources for addressing the Black youth suicide crisis. The participants will test their knowledge on the objectives listed above and engage with presenters and fellow participants through interactive Kahoot! phone surveys.
