Abstract
While we have seen a recent explosion of research related to autism, clinicians are left waiting for the trickle down of evidence from a research laboratory to a real-world laboratory. This session will explore one example of Lawrence W. Green’s 2008 Making research relevant: If it is an evidence-based practice, where's the practice-based evidence? challenge: “If we want practice-based evidence, we need more evidence based on practice.” We will report data on a unique social skills methodology (Social Thinking®) that emphasizes both “thinking” and “doing” as part of the dynamic and synergistic nature of social interactions.
