32.1 A Hybrid Trial Design to Introduce and Evaluate a Care Bundle for Mental Health Presentations to Pediatric Emergency Departments Across Canada

Abstract

Emergency departments (EDs) are vital care settings for children during mental health crises. However, most EDs do not require the use of pediatric-specific mental health tools or have family-centered procedures in place to guide care. In this presentation, I will describe a trial designed to compare the effectiveness of routine ED mental health care to a novel care bundle that introduces new tools and procedures to care. I will also describe partnerships to support trial conduct and substudies designed to add value to the trial’s findings.
