Abstract

Alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes (MVC) continue to be a substantial public health problem. Brief interventions (BI) for alcohol for injured ED patients have been demonstrated to be effective, and perhaps more so for MVC patients. Telephone communications have been utilized in varying ways in health care. We report on 3-month outcome data of a RCT of injured ED patients using a novel model of telephone-delivered BI after ED discharge.
