Abstract

FEM software specializing in analysis of cylindrical gear pair has been developed with a unconventional concept, tooth flank film element. It is applied to give easily boundary conditions between contacting tooth flanks. The present paper describes the usefulness of the developed software; i.e., validity of the tooth flank film element. The calculated contact stress between tooth flanks was compared with the measured one using pressure measurement film in various cases. In the gear pair with non-misalignment, it has been measured and confirmed usefulness of the software in the previous study. Moreover, in the gear pair with certain misalignment, the measured stress was also compared with calculated one.
