Abstract

It is said that man presumes the direction where the sound source comes by using the direction dependency of the sound transfer function (Head Rerated Transfer Function, HRTF) with own head and the pinna. This sound localization is done by right and left two ears. An example of engineering application on this ability, such as, the system that executes the aural system of the humanoid robot and the sound localization of the hearing handicapped person. In this research, we propose the location system for the direction of the sound source. This system is based on the binaural time difference and the database of multi direction HRTF beforehand.
