Abstract

Competitive advantages of manufacturing industries in our country have rapidly decreased in global market. To get competitive advantages in global market, manufacturing industries are needed to develop new businesses which can offer high added value to markets. One of the ways to develop new businesses is to search for new customers from various markets and adapt their seeds to customers' needs in their markets. This paper proposes a method to get several candidates of matching among "seeds" and "needs". The matching is carried out from the standpoint of "value". Then the results of matching among "seeds" and "needs" are visualized by using the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) technique. By referring to generated maps, the user of this method can figure out "seeds" which can be adapted for "needs" of their new customers. Moreover, there are possible to generate potential "needs" which user have not expected by combining "seeds" and other "seeds".
