Abstract

Protocols for the transfer and stabilization of pediatric patients with life-threatening emergencies vary across age groups and differ significantly from adults. The present survey study aims to assess emergency medical services (EMS) provider comfort in treating pediatric patients of different ages and presenting illnesses and better understand how continuing education affects comfort level. Results from the study are intended to advocate for strengthening pediatric education curricula within departments and continuing education guidelines at a state and national level.
