Abstract

The first goal of this study was to examine the relationship between PTSD symptom severity and borderline personality traits and secondly to compare these relationships between adolescent and adult patients. There is increasing supporting evidence for diagnosing borderline personality disorder (BPD) in adolescence given that it is a well-known risk factor for completed suicides in adults. It has also been documented that many of those with BPD have experienced childhood trauma.
