Two new carboxylic acids, 1 and 6, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Lafuentea rotundifolia Lag. (Scrophulariaceae). The structural determination was performed by spectroscopic methods and chemical correlations, the absolute stereochemistry being established by Mosher's method. Both substances have a fatty acid-type structure with an unusual pattern.
