Abstract

In recent years the use of composite materials increased in many fields, for example, woven fabrics are the most used to reinforce the polymeric matrix owing to their high impact resistance, high fatigue resistance, fracture toughness, and damage tolerance characteristics. The main objective of this chapter is to present the cyclic durability of composites reinforced by hybrid woven fabrics to understand the service life of their composites. The advantages and the differences between woven and hybrid woven fabrics are mentioned; also discussed is the influence of environmental aging factors on the fatigue mechanisms, and the cyclic durability characterization of composites. Finally, the modelization and prediction of cyclic durability of hybrid woven composite in the case of natural and synthetic woven are mainly detailed. As well, the factors influencing durability are also established.
