Abstract

It is necessary to examine the detailed behavior of flux and magnetization in a recording medium in order to develop high recording density system. In this paper, the writing characteristics of cusp-field single pole type (CF-SPT) head on a discrete track medium is analyzed using the 3-D R/W simulation system. It is shown that not only the amplitude but also the direction of magnetization is changed by the ampere-turns.
