3‐D characterization of the upper sandstone member, C‐2‐X sand, east flank of the north dome, Centro Lago Field, Lake Maracaibo

Abstract

The Centro Lago Field in Lake Maracaibo is divided into three areas: the North Dome, the South Dome, and the interdomal area. The study area focuses on the east flank of the North Dome and the interdomal region. The two principal objectives of this study were (1) to characterize the upper C‐2‐X sandstone member of the Eocene Misoa Formation through 3‐D seismic, geologic and petrophysical analysis, and production history and (2) to define prospects based on these correlations on the east flank of the North Dome.
