Abstract

Resilience can be defined as a dynamic process that helps an individual thrive in the face of adversity; understanding resilience and its biology may form the basis for new interventions for health promotion. Despite this, child and adolescent psychiatrists learn little about resilience and its neurobiological underpinnings. Neuroscience education for psychiatrists has advanced substantially in the last decade, with focus during training as a milestone, and creation of online curricula by the National Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative (NNCI), MedEdPORTAL, and others.
