Abstract
The objectives are to: 1) describe the epidemiology of sleep problems in youth who have experienced acute and chronic trauma; 2) identify the proposed pathophysiology of insomnia and nightmares experienced by trauma survivors; and 3) outline the data supporting nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic treatments of nightmares and trauma-related insomnia.
