Abstract

The goals of this presentation are as follows: 1) to understand James Gross’ modal model of emotion regulation and the role that emotion regulation plays in psychopathology; 2) to understand the limitations of applied behavioral analysis (ABA) in treating co-occurring psychopathology in individuals with intellectual developmental disability (IDD); 3) to review the early outcomes of psychotherapeutic interventions in individuals with IDD; and 4) to learn about current clinical models being piloted and future research needs.
