Abstract

AbstractA touch sensitive Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) that obviates the need to have a transparent touch panel mounted on top of the LCD, in the viewer side, is realized. This is achieved through the introduction of a resistive touch‐sensitive mechanical switch into the pixel. The combined display driving and touch sensing electronics allow for a limited change in the display driving architecture.
