Abstract

AbstractThe application of integrated system/product development approaches and the use of spiral development models is becoming more prevalent in practice today. However, generally these methods are applied to programs as the program is starting development. Loral Federal Systems‐Owego (LFS‐O) recently used the concept of Integrated System Development/Integrated Product Development (ISD/IPD) along with a spiral development approach starting in initial idea exploration and through the proposal phase of a major new program. This experience is described along with a summary of lessons learned from early in the development.
