Abstract

Social and environmental determinants contribute significantly to the development and expression of pediatric ADHD. These stressors predict more severe illness, poorer functioning, and worse treatment response. Preschoolers with emerging ADHD are a high-risk and understudied cohort that may be especially vulnerable to adversity and particularly resilient with the provision of resources. We explored how the development of a family navigation intervention addressing unmet social needs in families of preschoolers with ADHD symptoms could reduce disparities in clinical outcomes.
