Abstract

Irritability, narrowly defined as the propensity to respond with anger and anger outbursts, cuts across mental disorders and is a common reason for psychiatric evaluation. Emerging evidence associates irritability symptoms with suicidal ideation and behavior. We will discuss the relationship between irritability and suicidality in children and adolescents with externalizing symptoms.
