Abstract

Interest in the detection of children and adolescents at risk for emotional disorders or behavioral problems has increased in the last two decades, yet Kosovo does not have any data or research studies on the subject. Despite reported problems with reliability and measurement invariance across groups (e.g., gender, age, or ethnicity), we used Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to gather some estimates for levels of mental health problems in Kosovo (after-war; low-middle-income country), with 47.6 percent of the population composed of youth and underdeveloped child and adolescent mental health services.
