Abstract

A new excitation band of RbCs is observed near 605 nm in a very cold molecular beam using the resonance-enhanced two photon ionization (RE2PI) method. From the rotational contour analysis and comparison with ab initio calcualtions, the new excitation band is assigned to the (1) 3Δ(Ω = 1)−X 1Σ + transition. We determine the term value as T e = 16481.65 ± 0.15 cm − and the dissociation energy as D e = 1862.8 ± 1.2 cm −.
