Abstract

In order to recognize the volume and situation of hazard areas soon when natural disasters occur, we have been developing precise digital mapping system for management of the hazards. The management system consist of the three-dimensional precise topographic survey and modeling system. The precise survey system using airplane photogrammetry and GPS has the advantages of precision of 10cm in the vast area of square of 150 km. The coordinates, distances and sectional profiles at arbitrary points can be measured accurately on the three-dimensional display by using the three-dimensional modeling technology. This paper reports the study of application of the system we have developed to management of dams and demonstrates that the system is useful for getting various data for management of dams.
