Abstract

An investigation is described in which fifteen wool samples of adult sheep of four breeds kept in Nepal were graded subjectively and then sorted into fibre types. The fibre length and diameter within each fibre type were measured. There were three fibre types in the medullated group, two in the heterotype group, and two in the fine group. Most of the differences in fibre length and diameter between fibre types within a given sample were statistically highly significant.
