Abstract
Practical QCD is an effective field theory in that unexcited heavy quarks are decoupled from the theory. To predict effects dependent on the heavy quarks one needs the RG invariants of the effective QCD in which they are retained. The RG invariants Lambda n2 of the effective n-flavour QCD are calculated from the observed Lambda 42.
