Abstract

This paper describes a method for simultaneously measuring the temperature and velocity distributions using two-color LIF and PIV. The measurements are carried out using a system consisted of single color CCD camera, which supplies all the necessary information for simultaneous measurement of temperature and velocity. The uncertainty analysis indicated that the accuracy of the temperature measurement was slightly reduced by the influence of each color filters and the presence of tracer particles, but the system allows the simultaneous measurement of temperature and velocity. This system was applied to the simultaneous measurement of temperature and velocity in a vertical buoyant plume and the thermal structure of turbulence was examined.
