Abstract

The 2.944 MHz ceramic bandpass filter for direct-to-line FDM carrier system is examined. The filter is designed with 5th order passband Chebyshev characteristics. It is composed of five trapped energy piezoelectric ceramic strip resonators and nine ceramic capacitors. The stopband attenuation is more than 80 dB and the passband ripple is ±0.1 dB. Temperature coefficient of the center frequency is 10 ppm/°C and its aging rate is below 0.01%/decade. The filter size is reduced to 1/5 that of the usual LC filter.
