Abstract

The Big Data Project Psychiatry at the UMC Utrecht is focusing on the stimulation of a data-driven organization in mental health care. By building flexible decision support systems for professionals, based on clinical data from the electronic patient file, professionals have direct insight in daily practice and can make a profit out of it. However, to be able to replicate and validate, it is important to increase the amount of data used. Because of privacy issues, it is difficult to combine patient data from different organizations. This is why the compute visits data consortium was built. Algorithms, output, and software are exchanged, whereas data stay in the original hub. This presentation will discuss the building of the model, its value for daily practice, and ethical issues.
