Abstract

The levels in 28Si up to 12 MeV were studied in the 29Si(τ, α) 28Si reaction. A distorted-wave analysis was performed to determine the angular momentum transfers leading to several levels in 28Si whose spins and parities had not been determined uniquely. Tentative spin and parity assignments were made for those states. The results are compared with the published information about the levels of 28Si.
