Abstract
The 30 and 60 day course of primary and secondary bone healing following partial and total osteotomy has been studied in the rat. Radiographs, scintigrams, callus thickness and scintillation counting were analyzed. Primary healing is completed by 30 days and secondary healing by 60 days. By use of this model, the effect of various influences on fracture healing can be quantitatively and qualitatively determined.
