Abstract
The Institute of Medicine acknowledged that “Insufficient evidence is available on gestational weight gain (GWG) and adiposity in infancy” (Chapter 6, Weight gain during pregnancy: Re-examining the guidelines, IOM, 2009). Therefore we choose to explore directly the relationship between gestational changes in maternal body composition and infant body composition at birth.
