Abstract
A new type of four body finishing process has been developed. In this process, instead of polishing pads, which are employed in conventional polishing processes, a rigid tool plate and polymer particles, added into the polishing slurry with abrasives, are employed in combination to realize high precision mirror finishing. Various materials of workpieces have been used to examine the method's ability, and high quality mirror finished surfaces have been obtained. Also it has been found that the combination of abrasives and polymer particles has very important effect on finishing characteristics.
