27993 Cardiac autonomic dysfunction in psoriasis patients with and without metabolic syndrome

Abstract

Studies have shown an association between psoriasis (PsO) and metabolic syndrome (MS). In addition, MS is associated with autonomic dysfunction (AD). The aim of this study was to look for an association between PsO and AD. This was a cross-sectional study of 20 PsO subjects, 20 MS subjects (age, sex and BMI matched) and 21 healthy controls (HC). Subjects underwent skin evaluation by a dermatologist, blood work for HbA1c, insulin, fasting glucose, and lipids, sudomotor function testing with Sudoscan device and cardiac autonomic function (CAF) testing with ANSAR device.
