Abstract

Urticarial vasculitis (UV) is characterized by recurrent and persistent urticarial lesions with histopathological features of leukocytoclastic vasculitis (LCV). Hypocomplementemic UV (HUV) is considered the most severe form and is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We present a case of HUV presenting with angioedema in a patient with SLE. A 33-year-old healthy woman was evaluated at the emergency department for respiratory distress requiring intubation, that improved with antihistamines and steroids.
