Abstract
Teledermatology is a growing field that can virtually meet the needs of a broad range of patients, especially during a global pandemic with contact precautions. Given that dermatologic complaints are a common reason for emergency department (ED) visits, it is prudent to evaluate ED teledermatology in the evolving healthcare landscape. The purpose of this study was to compare in-person and teledermatology consultations in the ED. A retrospective chart review of 450 consecutive patients receiving dermatology consultation in the Mayo Clinic ED from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019 was performed.
