Abstract

Patient history: A 41-year-old female with a past medical history of asthma presented to the emergency department for diffuse myalgias and a cutaneous eruption gradually worsening over two weeks. Physical examination showed symmetric violaceous papules and nodules on the dorsal arms and hemorrhagic vesicles overlying palpable purpura on the lower extremities. During admission she developed profound dysphagia and severe systemic muscle weakness.
