Abstract

Primary Focal Hyperhidrosis (PFH) is a debilitating condition that causes excessive sweating and is known to be associated with a lower quality of life and psychosocial distress. However, little is known on the clinical consequences of having PFH. Therefore, the goal was to examine the association between PFH and mental health (MH) disorders. A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the National Inpatient Sample (2004-2014), a database consisting ∼20% stratified sample of all US hospitalizations.
