Abstract

A 8‐domain pixel consisting of a main‐pixel and a sub‐pixel has been appied in the curved liquid crystal (LC) panel which is using the DBS (data BM less) design. In the curing process of the polymer stablized vertical alignment (PSVA), homogeneous LC alignment was obtained in the main‐pixel, but heterogeneous LC alignment occurred in the sub‐pixel. Through simulations and actual experiments, it was found that the curing mode, the pixel electode pattern and the pixel size have effect on this issue. And some strategies have been presented to improve this abnormal LC alignment.
