Abstract

The adolescent suicide rate is rising in the United States, yet we have limited knowledge about the short-term prediction of suicide attempts, which is critical in the emergency department (ED) setting. Our aim was to determine predictors of attempts within 3 months of an ED visit in the full sample group and in subsample groups defined by sex and absence of recent suicidal thoughts.
