Abstract

Background: The diagnosis and antimicrobial treatment of pediatric cellulitis widely varies. There is limited research evaluating the utility of MRSA nasal swab testing in diagnosing and managing pediatric cellulitis. MRSA nasal swabs typically result within 24 hours, whereas wound culture results may take up to 120 hours, helping clinicians make faster and more informed decisions on antibiotic selection.
